Dr. Jerry Osteryoung

Dr. Jerry Osteryoung is a distinguished and acclaimed FSU Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance who has spent the last 10 years as a global guru renowned for helping small businesses succeed. He is also executive director of the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at FSU's Business School. JMI was created 10 years ago to dispense advice to entrepreneurs aimed at increasing small business success rates in Florida.

Somewhere in the course of assisting more than 4,000 small businesses, Osteryoung has reached the celebrated title of small business mentor extraordinaire. The astounding length and breadth of his experience led the Florida Economic Development Council to recognize him as their 2005 Volunteer of the Year.

Over a generation of service, Osteryoung has gained tremendous insight into small business creation, ownership and management, and he lends it to readers as free advice through his weekly column. His columns are lively, their advice applicable.

Osteryoung wants to reach out to more small business owners by syndicating his column free of charge to any Florida newspaper that will run it. You can read his columns at www.cob.fsu.edu/jmi/articles/articles.cfm. For more information about running his columns in your paper, contact Ron Sachs, at 850-222-1996 or by e-mail at rsachs@ronsachs.com.
